Our Team

Dr. John has over 20 years experience as a small animal veterinarian. Prior to purchasing Homestead Animal Hospital in the fall of 2020 he operated a mobile veterinary service for 6 years. At Homestead our aim is to combine the personalized care of the home veterinary service with all the advantages of a full service animal hospital, such as digital radiology, in-clinic bloodwork, laser therapy, and surgery. During his years as a mobile veterinarian Dr. John also provided care for charitable organizations, such as, Paws Assisting Wounded Warriors and the Illinois Bird Dog Rescue, two organizations we continue to assist through clinic care today. Dr. John grew up in Oak Forest, IL and attended Andrew High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana. Dr. John lives with his wife Kate, their four kids and numerous furry family members.

Dr. Riebel joined the Homestead team in August 2023. She has a passion for helping animals, using her problem solving skills to tailor treatment plans for each individual pet. She also loves the relationships she forms with pet owners. A native of the south suburbs, she attended Loyola University before receiving her DVM from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2023. While at U of I, she also became Fear Free and Recover Certified. Dr. Riebel chose Homestead because of our amazing staff and small clinic environment combined with good quality medical practice. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her fiancé and caring for her plants. Her furry family includes 3 dogs, 6 cats, a chinchilla and a red tail boa.

Growing up Kamelle always had a love for animals and knew she wanted to one day pursue a career working with them. Kamelle is the Manager and a Certified Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Fox College. Prior to working at Homestead, she did an externship at Lombard Veterinary Hospital, which provided her with more skill and knowledge. There she was able to assist in surgeries, lab work, animal care and much more. Now, she is a proud team member of Homestead Animal Hospital and wants to continue to grow in her caring capabilities for the patients as well as showing compassion and care for the Homestead clients.

Enyssa is our lead receptionist here at Homestead Animal Hospital. It brings such joy to Enyssa’s heart working with our clients and our four legged furry friends! She does her best to provide outstanding customer service to anyone that she assists. In her free time she is an amazing baker who graduated with an associate’s degree in culinary arts at Robert Morris University. Even though Enyssa loves to bake, she also has a love for animals and that is what brought her to work at Homestead. She enjoys utilizing her customer service skills every day. The extra bonus is being able to hug and kiss our Homestead pets whenever she is able.

Dina started her career at Homestead Animal Hospital as an extern while obtaining her AVA Certification at Moraine Valley Community College. Shortly after graduating, she proudly became part of the Homestead family.

It has always been a dream of Dina's to be able to work with animals however, after her career as a Paralegal, an Illinois Certified Public Insurance Adjuster and business owner, she finally decided to pursue her dream and truly be happy by doing what she loves the most.

Dina is devoted to her career and our furry friends here at Homestead. She strives to make our clients feel comfortable and secure that their pets are in good hands by treating them with the same love and compassion she would want for her own pets. Dina is eager to continue learning and growing with us here at Homestead.

Animal welfare has always been a cause close to Rebekah’s heart, so pursuing a career in veterinary medicine was a simple choice for her. Rebekah first served as an extern here at Homestead Animal Hospital before she joined our team. Rebekah is a Certified Veterinary Technician, who recently graduated from Fox College. In Rebekah’s free time, she enjoys reading books and spending time with her loved ones and furry family members.

Before her journey at Homestead she was a Certified Nursing Assistant. Providing quality care and assistance has always been second nature for Monica. She provided daily care for those in need of assistance, comfort and care. When she worked as a CNA it gave her so much knowledge and experience in customer service, compassion and critical thinking. Now her career path has led her to our clinic, Homestead Animal Hospital. Her love and fondness for helping clients and their fur babies is shown everyday. Outside of work, she loves volunteering her time to the Church choir.

Kate enjoys supporting our staff as well as working with our clients and their furry family members. Formerly a middle school science teacher, she has transferred her skills to Homestead, doing a little bit of everything administrative around the hospital. Her home life revolves around her husband and 4 children, and their menagerie includes 2 dogs, 3 cats, a rabbit, a guinea pig and a bearded dragon. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing, having coffee with friends and volunteering with her church.
